What is it we do?
The typical activities of THE Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay revolve around performing and teaching traditional pipe band instruments. The band plays numerous charity events and graduations in the city. The band also performs out of town with trips to the surrounding communities in Northwestern Ontario and the northern states of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Locally, the band has been a frequent performer at Old Fort William, helping to celebrate Scottish Days, Canada Day, and the Robbie Burns tribute supper. Since the end of the war, THE Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay have performed every year at the Cenotaph for the Remembrance Day celebration, and have continued that support as the ceremonies recently moved indoors to the Fort William Gardens. Other engagements the band has performed at in the past year were the Shelter House Relay, CIBC Run for Cancer, Long Lac Summer Rendezvous, Mines and Pines Jubilee (Hibbing, MN), and the Kenora (Black Sturgeon) School of Piping and Drumming
